  • Grade 5 students visited Kutch last month to support their Social Studies curriculum. The visit to the archaeological site at Dholavira helped them put context to their research on the Hrappan civilization of the Indus Valley. At Khamir in Bhuj, they learned crafts that provide a livelihood for Kutchi people - block printing, tie and dye, embroidery, plastic upcycled for weaving. They also learned how to "pug" mud in order to make bricks and mud daub walls. A visit to two schools in the salt pan area gave them an opportunity to interact with students of very different backgrounds. Highlights included the overnight train journeys and playing on the salt of the Rann of Kutch with not one tourist in sight. In all workshops and discussions, the facilitators were highly impressed by our students' prior knowledge, insightful questions and strong use of both receptive and expressive Hindi.

  • We are very happy to share that our Grade 9 student Mohammed Aiman Koli just broke the world record for solving the Rubik’s cube with his feet in just 15.56 seconds. Many congratulations to Aiman and here’s looking forward to many more such records. You can watch Aiman shatter the record on his YouTube page at https://tinyurl.com/aiman33

  • A couple of weeks ago, our Grade 4 students went to the Magic Bus Learning Centre at Karjat for a Learning Without Walls trip. They participated in various team building activities involving critical thinking, problem solving, collaboration, strategic planning and challenging themselves. The trip also included a 2 hour trek up a mountain to Irshali, a village with no electricity and just a few solar panels, where our students interacted with the villagers too. Some of the other highlights from the trip included a campfire with songs and roasted marshmallows and a night walk. The bunk beds in the dorms were a huge hit with our students and all of us enjoyed the delicious food at the centre.
