Monday Math – Lesson #26

Welcome back to #MondayMath once again.
We have been posing Math questions every Monday on our Facebook page. These are questions that our students also encounter in Mathematics classes at B.D. Somani.
Last week, we were helping animals cross a bog. This week, we need to build a picket fence.
Hitaishi wants to build a picket fence in her front yard. Her design has fence posts that are 8.5 feet apart, with 19 pickets between each set of posts. Question: If the pickets are 3 inches wide, how wide should the gaps be so that everything is evenly spaced?
