A note from Mr Navroz

Our student-centred ethos in the secondary school drives our pedagogy in and outside the classroom. Excellence in caring, caring for excellence. These words embody our core belief that every student can actualise their best version at B.D. Somani. As one of the early adopters of the IB Diploma Program in South Mumbai, B.D. Somani is uniquely placed to bring an international, progressive, holistic education to every student. The depth and breadth across our programs, along with a diverse and pedigreed faculty create a distinct enabling culture across our school. 

 

The secondary school is divided into three programs that seamlessly integrate into each other. We offer the IB Diploma program in Grades 11 and 12, the IGCSE program in Grades 9 and 10, and our own distinctive Middle School program inspired by the Cambridge Lower Secondary, backward designed from the aforementioned programs in Grades 6 through 8. These foundational programs are anchored in deeper learning and provide every student opportunities to enquire and think critically, whilst acquiring a variety of skill sets. 

 

Our ultimate goal is to ensure that every student leaves B.D. Somani with the confidence, self-awareness, and knowledge to thrive in an ever changing, dynamic world. We are very proud of our alumni who have left their distinctive mark in a number of undergraduate universities/colleges that rank highly with the best in the world, but more importantly, were a great fit for their personalities and character.
