BD Liga is an annual inter-school football league, hosted by B.D. Somani International School, for IB schools in Mumbai. The event was started in 2017 and since then it has been hosted every year. Within this short time, BD Liga has become a major sporting event in the IB calendar.
The event this year was a culmination of long-term planning, commitment and effort of the Sport Heads (Sahil Khandare and Pranati Wadhwa) of the Student Council of 2019 and our P.E. teachers (Mr. Mohsin Allabux, Mr. Monish Panchal and Mr. Everisto Machado). It was under their guidance and constant support that the event was well participated in and proved to be a great success.
BD Liga 2019 was spread over three months to cover three separate match series. Over 12 international schools participated in the event, including Dhirubhai Ambani International School, Singapore International School, Hill Spring International School, Aditya Birla World Academy, JBCN International School, Edubridge International School, Jamnabai Narsee International School, Dr. S Radhakrishnan International School, RBK International School, Oberoi International (Goregaon and JVLR), Kohinoor American School.

Tribes for Good: Community Project

Through our partnership with Tribes For Good, Grade 11 student Vipanshi Agarwal designed and led a series of workshops for women with skills in beauty and makeup — combining financial literacy, confidence-building, and awareness of cruelty-free practices. What she found was that the skills were already there. What was missing was someone connecting those skills to the idea of income. This is her reflection on what it means to create impact, and what she learned when she stopped trying to teach and started listening.

Zine, Cosmetics of Capitalism – A passion project

Cosmetics of Capitalism began with two things that had always run parallel in Vipanshi’s life: a deep commitment to animal welfare and a growing curiosity about the economic systems that allow cruelty to persist. In this zine, Vipanshi Agarwal investigates the ethical and economic costs of animal testing in the cosmetics industry — an issue she argues is as much a business question as a moral one.
