Growing and compounding! Recently the Mathematics AI HL class and Mathematics AA SL & AI SL of Grade 11 have been exploring the compounding effect of ‘mutual funds’ and its benefits.
They kicked this project off by diving into mutual funds, what they are, and what makes them so great. Using formulas like Expense ratio and Compound Interest, students grasped onto the compounding effect created in mutual funds and their benefits.
By understanding schemes provided by ICICI, SBI and many such various banks, students analyzed data, calculated and graphed their learnings, which helped them relate and better understand the growth in mutual funds. Students were made to create real-life situations where they applied multiple schemes in their own life, which encouraged critical thinking and problem-solving skills. This hands-on activity helped them connect their learnings to real life.
