Student Reflections: Hyderabad Trip

Student Reflections

From the 27th of February to the 3rd of March, Grade 7 (2022-23) travelled to The City of Pearls known as Hyderabad, Telangana. The trip was filled with stimulating activities from the moment we landed to our departure. Our visit to the Birla Science Center was the first. We had engaging experiences such as a sunset boat ride, a day trip to The Ramoji Film City, a zoo, Weaver’s Village and Sudha Car Museum. We also visited the Salar Jung Museum, Qutub Shahi Tombs and Charminar. Each new place we arrived at had its own unique experience and was undoubtedly exciting. In the Hotel itself, though, we also had a lot of fun, enjoying a game of Housie, a visit from Metamorphosis to teach us about entrepreneurship, and the much-awaited Talent Show. Cheers and laughter are the memories we will carry forth as we remember this fun-filled field trip.

In 2023, grade 7 took a trip to Hyderabad for 5 days. We got to visit exciting new places, eat interesting food, and spend time with our peers. Here are my favourite moments of the trip.

On 1st March 2023, we visited the Ramoji Film Centre. We saw the set of Bahubali and fake jails. At the canteen, I think I might have just found the best veg Manchurian in the world. After visiting the film sites, we got to try out a few rides. what stood out the most was the haunted house. I spent more time with my eyes closed screaming my lungs out, rather than actually paying attention to what was happening. It’s safe to say that I am grateful for the experience, but I am never going back there.

My personal favourite was the Salarjung Museum. I love history very much, and I got to see much of it there. There were many exhibits for Medieval China showcasing pots and teacups, rugs and paintings, and even furniture. We saw an ornate mechanical clock. And a sculpture of a man, although if you looked at it from the mirror behind, it was really a woman.

The Golkonda Fort was the most enticing. The elaborate old architecture didn’t fail to surprise us. The walk to the top, while tiring, gave us spectacular views. After sunset, we enjoyed an informative light and sound show. Characters explained the story of the fort and enchanting lights lit up the sight.

In conclusion, this trip was not about how much information we absorbed, but about the memories, we will cherish for the rest of our lives.

On February 27th, the seventh grade of B.D. Somani went on a school trip to the majestic city of Hyderabad. Our aim was to get to know each other better, bond with their teachers and learn more about the history and monuments of Hyderabad.

We reached Hyderabad at 12 o’clock and were welcomed warmly by the hospitable staff of Lemon Tree Hotel, Banjara Hills. We were given time to unpack and then headed to our first location, The Birla Museum where we learned about the history of dinosaurs and Indian Space History. We enjoyed a magnificent sunset from a famous Budha statue located in Hussain Sagar Lake. We also visited the Nehru Zoological Park where we saw a plethora of animals and also went to the Sahara Car Museum where we learned about vintage and funky cars and their making.
