A fond farewell: Reflections from Dr Geoffrey Fisher

As Dr Geoffrey Fisher, Head of School at B.D. Somani International School, nears the end of his tenure, he reflects on five and a half transformative years with the school. In his penultimate vlog, Dr Fisher shares his deep gratitude for the community that has enriched his journey.

From the challenges of navigating the pandemic to the resilience and strength of the B.D. Somani community, Dr Fisher highlights the school’s ability to adapt, grow, and thrive. He commends the faculty, leadership, and parents for their commitment to student wellness, academic excellence, and innovation.

Under his stewardship, the school has made significant strides, including a revamped IT infrastructure, the adoption of the PYP program, a curriculum overhaul, and a remarkable improvement in academic results. Yet, as he reflects, it’s the relationships and the human-centered culture of the school that he cherishes the most.

Dr Fisher is now stepping into a new role, leaving behind the daily rigors of school leadership for a corporate challenge. While he embraces this next chapter, he remains deeply connected to the B.D. Somani community and invites everyone to stay in touch.

As he prepares for his final farewell, Dr Fisher leaves us with a legacy of compassion, resilience, and a commitment to nurturing human connections in education.

Tribes for Good: Community Project

Through our partnership with Tribes For Good, Grade 11 student Vipanshi Agarwal designed and led a series of workshops for women with skills in beauty and makeup — combining financial literacy, confidence-building, and awareness of cruelty-free practices. What she found was that the skills were already there. What was missing was someone connecting those skills to the idea of income. This is her reflection on what it means to create impact, and what she learned when she stopped trying to teach and started listening.
