Grade 4 students embarked on an unforgettable journey to Camp Water’s Edge in Kamshet, greeted with warm smiles and boundless enthusiasm. Upon arrival, the diligent and compassionate camp leaders introduced themselves and explained the essence of Learning Without Walls (LWW) — a unique approach to innovative learning beyond the confines of a traditional classroom.
Students were divided into groups and dived into their adventure-filled day. Staying in cozy tents and dormitories, they engaged in various exciting activities such as the Burma Bridge, zip lining, rock climbing, kayaking, team-building games, a night walk, and even roasting s’mores by the fire. Swimming in the serene lake added a refreshing touch to the experience.
The culinary delights of the camp were equally memorable, featuring Chinese and Indian dishes, crispy papad, and a special cake to celebrate a friend’s birthday.
Beyond the fun, our students learned valuable life skills, including independence, organization, and the importance of not wasting food. They discovered the significance of perseverance, self-belief, adaptability, and fearlessness — even in the face of persistent mosquitoes!
The success of the camp was made possible by the supportive camp leaders, teachers, and staff, who guided and encouraged the students throughout. Even the bus ride was filled with laughter, songs, and anticipation, setting the tone for a truly remarkable experience.
Camp Water’s Edge offered not just adventure but also lessons that will remain etched in the hearts and minds of our students forever.
